WARS INTERNALLY DISPLACED 33.3 MILLION PEOPLE IN 2013 REPORTS U.N. (The World Post 5/14/2014 John Heilpren)
I kept reading and re-reading the numbers. I thought that they must have made a mistake in their calculations for the one year of 2014. My topic is Spirituality or Spirituality Praxis and so I do the social networking thing as everyone is doing in their own fields. I tend to do it almost everyday, looking at News Papers or e-mails which get sent to me, which I have subscribed to etc. Each day I feel more distressed and this headline made me feel ill, literally. There are lots of images to look at and that makes it worse, for me, that is. They make me feel worse. What is "worse"? guilty, sick, sad, angry, hopeless, impotent, grief stricken. But then, that is about me. What about the 33.3 million people? How do they feel? I can't even imagine and I don't think that there are any words that would or could adequately describe their situation, loss and horror.
So there we are - news! statistics! humanity! and what about justice? love? human rights? equal rights?
I don't know.
I also post to facebook, twitter and linkedin. There is so much news about the unexpected rise and rate in climate change, the droughts, fires, floods and lower food production.
Is all this about "Spirituality"? Well, yes, because we are all one, because we care and love, because we share our Earth Home and its dwindling resources and loss of life, at human, wildlife, environmental and water levels. We are all in this crisis together and I suppose the sooner we all become more aware, awake and conscious of these realities, the better so that we can, together, begin to process, feel, move forward in discerning some actions towards solutions, relief, sharing and real love?
