My blog update has obviously been a long time in coming.
I have been very busy with so many things which are related to publishing the book.
The process has been very long. Of course there has been the editing process. The first edit was a "structural" one, then the usual one which had to do with spelling and grammatical changes. Then there was the need to choose and agree on an appropriate title, which is, "A Fruit-Bearing Spirituality".
The book contains many diagrams which were initially designed for the Doctorate written in Word which had to be altered in format and size for the book. Of course, there were several proofs then which involved more changes.
I had to search for and choose a cover idea from Shutterbug, which took me ages since there are so many images available on display. The cover designer then had to agree or not.
I also wrote to several others in the field asking if they would consider reading the manuscript in order to give me an endorsement if they felt so inclined. Four of them did!
I used one as the preface and the other three as copy for the back cover.
All of the above work involved communicating back and forth with John Hunt Publishing in the UK. The book will be published under their "Circle Books" imprint.
In the meantime I also employed Col Mitchell to design an appropriate and relevant web site in preparation for the release. She also set up a social networking system connected to the web site so that I could begin to get an appropriate web presence and platform. I am still learning how to work that system!!!
However, I still don't know when the book will actually be printed and ready for publication!
Of course I will announce that date as soon as I hear.
In the meantime there are lots of ways to be involved with some of the learning which is contained within the book through the social networking indicated on the site as well as looking at some of the other websites and books which are included on the site.
Any comments, suggestions or impressions to this blog will be gratefully received.
Thank you,
Carolyn
